Terms of Service — Nouri

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Nouri AI FZ-LLC ("Nouri", "we", "us") governing your use of the Nouri mobile application and related services (the "Service"). Read them before you install the app. If you don't agree, please don't use Nouri.

1. Who we are

2. Your account

You need an account to use Nouri. When you create one, you promise that:

You are at least 13 years old (16 in some EU member states; check your local minimum).
The information you provide is accurate.
You will keep your account credentials confidential and are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
You will not let anyone else use your account.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use of the Service is harming Nouri, other users, or third parties.

3. What Nouri does and doesn't do

Nouri is a consumer nutrition-tracking and guidance app. We use your profile, your goals, and the meals you log to generate estimates of calorie intake, macronutrient balance, weekly progress summaries, and general nutrition suggestions.

Nouri is not medical advice. We are not your doctor, dietitian, or healthcare provider. The app's outputs are estimates and generalisations, not diagnoses or clinical recommendations. If you have a medical condition, allergy, eating disorder, or are pregnant, breastfeeding, under eighteen, or an athlete with specialised needs — consult a qualified professional before relying on anything the app suggests.

Photo meal analysis and typed descriptions use AI. AI analysis is not always correct. The estimates are best-guess and may be significantly wrong for unusual foods, mixed dishes, low-quality photos, or ambiguous descriptions. Verify anything that matters.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Nouri offers both a free tier and paid subscriptions. Paid subscriptions are sold through the Google Play Store (and the Apple App Store once iOS launches).

Payment processor: all payments are handled by Google (Play) or Apple (App Store). Nouri never sees or stores your card details.
Billing period: shown to you at purchase — typically monthly or annual.
Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Cancel from within Google Play or the App Store (not from inside Nouri).
Free trial: if you start a free trial, you will be charged the full subscription price at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
Refunds: refund requests are handled by Google or Apple according to their policies. Nouri does not process refunds directly, but we may at our discretion ask the store to process one for you.
Price changes: we can change prices with at least 30 days notice; you'll be told in-app and by email, and you can cancel if you don't want to pay the new price.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent the law prohibits us from restricting you.
Use Nouri to harass, impersonate, or harm anyone.
Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or contains malware.
Automate access to Nouri (scrapers, bots) without our written permission.
Circumvent or disable our security controls, rate limits, or the subscription paywall.
Use Nouri if you are in a country subject to UAE, US, UK, or EU trade sanctions that would make the service unlawful.

If you break these rules we may suspend or terminate your access without refund.

6. Your content

When you log meals, take photos, add notes, or submit feedback, you retain ownership of what you contributed. You grant Nouri a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use that content solely to deliver the Service to you (analyse it, show it back to you, include it in your reports). We do not use your content to train public AI models. We do not sell your content.

You are responsible for your content. Don't upload photos of other people without their permission.

7. Intellectual property

The Nouri app, its code, design, brand, and the aggregated insights we derive are owned by Nouri AI FZ-LLC and protected by copyright, trade mark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms. That licence ends if your account is terminated.

8. Changes to the Service

We may add, remove, or change features. We may discontinue the Service entirely with reasonable notice. If we discontinue the Service, we will offer you a way to export your data and, where applicable, a prorated refund of any unused subscription period.

9. Limitations and disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW:

Nouri is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.
Nouri's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Nouri in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100.
Nouri is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or profits, even if we have been advised of the possibility.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers or limits; in those places the limits apply to the extent permitted.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Nouri for claims arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your content — except where the claim arises from Nouri's own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

11. Governing law and disputes

Governing law: the laws of the United Arab Emirates (federal), or the laws of the emirate of Dubai where applicable. [If you incorporate elsewhere, update this clause to match].
Dispute resolution: we'll try to resolve disputes informally first — email legal@nouri-ai.com. If that doesn't work, the courts of Dubai, UAE have exclusive jurisdiction, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country.

Nothing in this clause prevents you from using any consumer-protection procedure that local law entitles you to.

12. Termination

You can terminate any time by deleting your account (Settings → Delete account).
We can terminate your account if you break these Terms or if continuing to serve you would expose Nouri to legal or regulatory risk.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. limitations, indemnity, governing law) survive.

13. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the full agreement between you and Nouri about the Service.
Severability: if any clause is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
No waiver: if we don't enforce a clause once, that doesn't mean we've given it up.
Assignment: you can't assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a sale of Nouri's business.
Changes to Terms: we can change these Terms. Material changes are announced in-app and by email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.
